3rd meeting: Overshoot workshop #2
- Malmö stad miljöförvaltningen will have Smarta Kartan for Malmö ready. Plans to do some kind of “miniature” smarta kartan in Folkets Park where people go around and find different stations. Maybe a bit like Hitta Ut?
- Degrowth will create a “Degrowth Malmö” poster.

2nd meeting: Degrowth overshoot discussion
- Helping people understand what degrowth means.
- Could this be through conversations or a poster or something else?
- It’s a good recruitment exercise to get people involved in the group.
- Show some of the things that we’re doing and how people can get involved.
- Good opportunity to engage people who don’t know much about this. Folkets park is playful place. Can we boil down degrowth into a game?
- Break it down to a level that’s easy to grasp.
- Last year, tables of meeting people. Tables for workshops. Space for talks. Activities for kids. 12-17. Band played at the end.
- Every org has a stall but then can do more if they want to.
- “What is Degrowth?” Big poster.
- Last year- missed some reason to talk to people. Could we do a tipsrunda, a quiz/treasure hunt. You have to talk to people to answer the questions.
- Could we have a big poster where we ask people to draw or write their vision of what a Degrowth Malmo could look like? Collage!
- Advertising - collage of ads that could replace ads? Create a vision of what an ad free city might look like somewhere. Degrowth walk and talk.
- Walking tour! Degrowth focused. Pick six to eight places and talk a bit about each one. Institute of Malmö History does something like this.
- Petition: we need to phrase it well and do it well. Needs to be something that the city can do. Needs to be realistic and idealistic.
- Banning commercial ads from public space. Or just high carbon ads? Give examples of other cities that have done it - Sao Paolo, Geneva.
- Could we do two versions of the same workshop - one more aimed at kids, one more for adults?
- Could we do a film screening and a discussion afterwards? Good backup plan if we can’t come up with anything else.
- We have a volunteer! Teymour. Ebba too! Annita and Silfa will also be there.
- Form Design Centre architect who did an invånareförslag - Therese. Annita will ask her and report back.
- Jens can also help.
- Degrowth map? Collaborative. Show places that already exist. A bit like Smarta Kartan. Make it for the festival, but it could be an ongoing resource. Start by crowdsourcing a list and see what it looks like.
- Can we redraw a street scene? It’s a bit of work. Have other people done this in Malmö? Can we get permission to use it?

- suggest in Degrowth group to have a workshop for planning
- Make stamps (potato? linocut) with the iconic snail for Degrowth. Provide paint for clothes (if people want to print the snail on their clothes or bags), have some fancy paper pieces for people to make their own nice card, or some skin-friendly paint for kids to put on their hands. ⇒ invite some Degrowthers to a common lino cutting session? And maybe also printing out pictures of Degrowth visions?
