1. Spider pattern

2. Minor pentatonic

3. Major scale (open)
Good exercise, and very important to also learn where on the fretboard which notes are.
Key of C

Key of G

4. Major scale (3 notes per string)
Use a metronome to make sure you keep the tempo between all the notes. Make sure all notes come out clear. Start slow!
Key of G
Index finger on 3rd fret of lower E string, pinky finger on 7th fret of lower E string. Thumb behind the 4th fret.

Finger order: E string: 3 - index, 5 - middle, 7 - pinky A string: 3 - index, 5 - middle, 7 - pinky D string: 4 - index, 5 - middle, 7 - pinky G string: 4 - index, 5 - middle, 7 - pinky B string: 5 - index, 7 - ring, 8 - pinky e string: 5 - index, 7 - ring, 8 - pinky
Key of B
Start same pattern e.g. on 7th fret of lower E string, an you have the key of B scale.
5. 4-note ascending pattern
Go through the same pattern as in the previous exercise in blocks of 4 notes, and shift every block upwards by one note.
G major scale

6. Finger “push ups”
Put all 4 fingers on the G string, starting from 5th fret: 5 - index, 6 - middle, 7 - ring, 8 - pinky Then starting with the index finger: move ONLY this finger up to the E string and down to the e string, while the other fingers stay on the G string. Only move the finger, not the wrist. Repeat 10 times. Move to the next finger. Ring and pinky tend to be the trickiest, but reach as far as you can and repeat.
