Measurements
Available space and approximate dimensions of planter box: 160 cm length 40 cm depth 33 cm height
Tips
From https://www.reddit.com/r/wood/comments/tswvob/what_type_of_wood_should_i_buy_to_make_a_planter/:
- Use cedar wood. You can treat it with boiled linseed oil.
- Any conifer wood (pine, fir) should be good. Treat with oil ever few years.
- Add (rubber) feet to have it off the ground - wood hates trapped moisture.
- Line it with heavy gauge plastic, but make some holes for drainage.
- If using paint: use latex or oil-based paint. 2 coats of primers, 3 coats of paint.
